A baseball fan has caused widespread disgust across America after he was filmed turning a simple hot dog, into a beer straw in the stands.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new contender for the grossest fan moment caught on camera. And this one might just top them all.

Sports fans over the years have produced some wild and truly horrific moments in the stands, but this fan at a New York Yankees game makes them all look like completely normal.

On Tuesday a video quickly took over social media, leaving fans in disgust as they watched on at the chaos unfolding before their eyes.

An unnamed fan was filmed stabbing a perfectly good hot dog with a straw, going right through the hot dog.

Straight away you think he’s planning on pouring tomato sauce or mustard into the hole which would be perfectly reasonable.

But no, if only that were the case.

After holing out the hot dog from both ends, the man closes up the cardboard box housing the hot dog bun and the straw.

He then reaches down to the ground and picks up his beer.

Without missing a beat, the hot dog is dumped into the plastic cup full of beer and the fan begins sipping away.

The Twittersphere blew up over the Yankees fan’s hot dog straw, but not everyone was repulsed by the act, with many labelling the fan a genius.

“Nope. The jokes are done. We’ve gone too far as a society. This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” one fan wrote.

“Tired: Paper straws. Wired: Hot dog straws!!!!” another user wrote.

Another added: “What strange New York hell is this? Who drinks a beer through a hot dog straw?”
