The Back Abbey is branching out.

The longtime Claremont eatery has opened a second location in Upland.

The location, 1902 N. Campus Ave., Suite A, appears to have been most recently a Burgerim.

The inaugural Taste of Riverside is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.

The event, hosted by the Riverside Food Systems Alliance, will take place at Fox Farm, 5903 Grand Ave., Riverside.

Riverside Food Systems Alliance is an organization working to create a food system that makes healthy, local foods available for all in the inland region of Southern California.

According to its website, it “connects organizations and removes barriers in an effort to expand access to local foods, prevent food waste, preserve land for sustainable agriculture, grow our inland economy, and much more.”

The event will feature farm-to-table offerings from 10 Riverside restaurants, plus beer and wine and live music.

Tickets are $75 (plus a $4.22 service fee if purchased online).

The event is a fundraiser for the Beginning Farmer Training Program and the Northside Agriculture Innovation Center.

Hangar 24 Craft Brewing will release the latest beer in its experimental series on Friday, Sept. 16.

The new brew, X5-SUPR-OW, appears to be a more intense version of the brewery’s flagship Orange Wheat.

The brewery describes the beer’s appearance as “a bright straw gold color and opaque in clarity, with a fluffy white head.

And for taste, the brewery states that drinkers will “notice a bright orange flavor before you even finish your first sip, backed by a complex flavor profile reminiscent to a traditional German shandy in times of yore.”

The first beer in the series — X1-PL-ALE — won a gold medal at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.

Members of the brewery’s Flight Test Program receive early access to the series as well as a crowler of each beer, along with other perks.

Hangar 24 Craft Brewing is at 1710 Sessums Drive, Redlands.
